Having worked in the medical field for over 25 years, I am both humbled and privileged at the same time, as it has given me, a more profound understanding to human nature, such that otherwise, I would have not been able to acquire. After years of practicing kindness, empathy, and compassion with patients, I feel I have gained deeper understanding of relationships, and witnessed over and over, how having someone to confide in, is vital to our mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. I began my medical career as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and within several years, became an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse). I have been an LVN for 18+ years. I have cared for patients in some of the most acute conditions, as those recovering from severe motor vehicle accidents, and just about any type of health challenge one can imagine. I have worked as supervisor in the medical field, educating other nurses. I brought together family members who for years, even decades, had stopped speaking to one another. And finally, when reunited, and brought to tears, I cried with them, we cried together. Despite the many changes in health care industry, I still maintain impeccable bedside manner, and continue to support and care for my patients as family. Starting with the patient needs, along with their family, and doctor, I encourage open communication as key to providing top level care for my clients.
